    Any Thoughts?

It could be celiac disease. There is malabsorbtion with that also. You can ask your doctor for a test for it.

    CONSTIPATION PLEASE HELP!

I agree-- it's best to take mirlax to help things moving. Basically, you have two choices 1) take a test and see how pancratic suffient you are (do you have some function? do you NEED enzymes? not all CF people do) 2) if you do, you should take them to help absorb the food and be more...

    Reactions to medicines

Yes, it was a bowel obstruction (we're also DD508) but they told us that it wasn't long enough to give him nutrients also. He only had saline for almost 5 days.

Washington DC area: Adult CF Center

As far as I know, you have the choices of National Children's medical center in DC (I think you can get there by metro bus) and Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, which you'd need a car to get to. JH is much larger and they do lung transplants. However, it is a "teaching hospital" so you very often...

    Reactions to medicines

Our son was in the hospital for a "bowel cleanse" with golytly. He gained almost 20% of his weight in fluid. They stopped it after 4 days of pumping him with fluid and saline. He did not eat at all. He is now deflating and looks like he's been punched in both eyes. His eyes are also sunk-in...

    Care Centers

We ended up at Johns Hopkins because the baby was admited there. We live between Children's National Medical Center and Johns Hopkins. Which is the better center? It's rather hard to "shop around" for CF centers. People tend to go with the only one in their area, and have to rely on one or two...
