I was always on the small side because of malabsorption issues, but my dad said he was stick-thin when he was my age too. I didn't really "fill out" until I was about 22 and these days I rather like the way I look.

Incidentally, I'm almost 2 inches taller than the US national average for women, which is 5'4".

I didn't get on enzymes till I was 15. I was always super short and super thin (as a kid). I stopped growing the year I was diagnosed. My younger sister teases me (lovingly) that I am really the "little sister".

My biological mother was 6 ft tall and quite big boned. I am 5'3" and quite petite. I do have a long torso for my height which makes buying clothes a bit difficult. I also have big feet for my height.

My doctors always thought I was petite due to my premature birth-- till my diagnosis.

Hard for me to say. My Dad's side is tall for the most part, but ALL of my Moms side are short. I am one of the "taller" on Moms side

My family also were all thing until they either had hysterectomies or hit 50 & then put on weight.....my Mom was just a bit bigger then me about 2 years before I was born & that was AFTER she already had 6 kids

Being I wasnt diagnosed until 7...I probably missed out of some growth, but I think most of mine is the "other" genetic factor.

I think what you will find is those people that did not take their enzymes regularly will be on the shorter side as they will have malabsorption and thus not all the nutrients etc... needed to grow to their potential. I definitely feel I should have been taller but I didn't take me enzymes faithfully as a teenager. My brother is 3 or 4 inches taller than me.</end quote>

I was pretty bad at taking my enzymes when I was younger, so for me, that did not matter for my height. Not saying that it couldn't be the reason for others who are short though.
