Odds of a Successful Pregnancy

This is a great topic especially since Im wanting to get pregnant, the more I learn the better, I think. I do however have a question. What does BMI stand for? I use to know but forgot. So could you tell me what my BMI is? My height is 5ft and I weigh 142pds.

BMI = body mass index. It has something to do with your weight vs. your height, etc. It's more accurate than just weight, I believe.

BMI is calculated by dividing your weight (in kg) by your height squared (in m). There are healthy ranges with BMI, so you should aim to keep you BMI between 18.5 and 24.9 in order to be healthy.

Your BMI is 27.7, and are therefore overweight.

Here are the parameters.

* Underweight = <18.5
* Normal weight = 18.5-24.9
* Overweight = 25-29.9
* Obesity = BMI of 30 or greater
