In my personal opinion, to each his own ::shrugs:: believe what you want to believe. You shouldn't feel that you have to stand up for, or defend your belief to anybody as long as you're happy with it.

Girls please we've had enough!! Go back to your corners... There are alot of us out here who would rather keep our opinions on certain issues private. This topic should not have been aired on the adult 'CF ' section it should have gone to the 'off topic' area.

I dont think it matters what topic area it goes to. It still is inappropriate subject. Period. We always get into arguements on religion. That is why noone usually discusses it. Rose I'm completely on your side. I think Jennifer and winace know their opinions "as they call them" are only going to get a rile out of people. So they continue to try to have the last word regardless of who it offends. How can you say miracles dont happen? They happen every day, even you have a miracle. Your child. Just because it may not be a miracle or a prayer that YOU wanted doesn't make it any less of one. We'er not supposed to have EVERYTHING we wish for. It would be a wild world if we did. But thats why you have faith. Whether it be in God or yourself or whoever. You still move forward in this world because of faith. If their was no promise of an after life we would still beleive in God. Because it's not just about the after life that people follow. I am not of the christian faith. Becky in Mich.

If its an "inappropriate subject" then why are you posting your opinion here? Can anyone within religion say ANYTHING that does not contradict themselves? And so basically what your saying is anyone who is a Christian has the right to talk about there opinions here but if we are not then we have no right? Don't flatter yourself into thinking I need a "rile" out of you, I don't even know you and I could careless if my belief's cause you to get riled up, thats your own insecurity don't put it off on me. Why does my opinion bother you so much? What is it that makes you feel "riled" and defensive? Are you the only one with the right to an opinion here? I did not attack anyones post on this board I simply gave my opinion on the topic, and I have the right to do that, why are you so threatened by it? It's the way I feel and I don't need to defend it to you or anyone else here. I do not have to see things your way, thanks to seperation of church and state I am free.

This is sort of irrelevent, but isn't a miracle something that there is no human or earthly explanation? If that is the case, pregnancy in istelf is not a miracle- we all know the explanation for that. This isn't a commentary on whether miracles do happen, just musing on my part.

I would like to voice my opinion on this subject as well. One day i believe everyone ( believers and nonbelivers) will stand before The Lord on Judgement Day and I bet everyone will have wished that they did believe. I did not grow up going to church and my mother was deceased and my father was an alcoholic, there was no brainwashing for me, even though i wish that there would have been someone to talk to me about the Lord. I did not start attending church until the age of 31, there are alot of things that i did before being saved that i am so glad that i do not do now, not only for my sake but for the sake of my children. All of my children are saved and are going to HEAVEN after this life, what a tragedy it will be for those who do not believe there is anything after this life. My daughter with CF knows that the Lord will take care of her, and her faith is so strong, I also believe in prayer, of course i do not think we should be praying for material things because they mean nothing compared to the treasures that are stored for us in Heaven. I also do not like to hear others say "why would God do this to anyone" Do any of you think about how the Lord Jesus Christ died on the cross for OUR sins, Do you think that this was fair??? or is it that maybe you do not even believe that The Lord died on the cross???? it is also so funny how no one wants to talk about religion but there sure have been alot of viewers on this topic, not to mention replies. One more thing, As believers in Jesus Christ it is our responsibiltiy to spread the Gospel and those who do will reap the rewards no matter what others seem to think.

several points i need to make
1. you maym feel that 'witnessing' or whatever is your responsibility, but why do you feel so passionate about doing so. pepole not believing in what you do has no effect on your beliefs. in fact i think it makes people resent religon and maybe ess likely to find the churvch
2. i have never encountered any religon but christianity trying to push others toward their relion as forcefully as christians do.
3. just because a pesron doesnt beleve in god does not mean they dont believ in an afterlife. you can throw a party without one ultimate host.

There is no reason to be rude about others religion or lack of religion. Things just happen praying will not make your illness go away. Praying didn't make my mother not beat me or my father not rape me for that matter it didn't keep one of my best freinds from having a break down and kill her baby. They are were very church going. Don't try to make others feel bad. I always post with my sname but did not this time for reasons. I think being cruel and judging others is not right. I have held dying people in my arms held newborns. I believe this is the reason to it all. To feel pleasure pain love and hope. Greed self pity hate envy are not good for the spirt. You have to take others as they are and try to learn from ever thing. Please don't fight

I do not feel that i push my beliefs on anyone, i believe that there will be many denominations in Heaven, i do have friends that are of different denominations, actually my own family members have different beliefs to a degree. They do believe that there is God and they do believe that Jesus died for their sins. My family goes to a Baptist church but my sisters both go to a Pentacostal church and my sister in law grew up in a Lutheran church. I have many friends that are Catholic, I guess my only question is I find it really hard to understand how people can deny Christ.

The reason i think we are to spread the Gospel is because that is what the Lord Jesus Christ tells us to do in the book of Matthew. Matthew 28:19, and also The Lord Jesus Christ says that those that deny him, he will deny before his Father. Also i do believe that Jesus Christ healed the blind, and the sick and I also believe that my Lord and Savior is Almighty and can do all, even heal my daughter of CF, if it be his will to do so!!!! Funny how Abraham was ready and willing to sacrifice his son and the Lord provided a ram instead, only because he knew Abrahams heart and faith!!!!

I am not here to offend any one but if others can give their opinions about denying Christ I most certainly can Stand up for my Lord who has given me plenty of blessings and miracles, and yes having a baby and giving birth is a miracle!!!

See that is a good way to look at things. I was raised in a blended family religion wise anyhow. I never took to any one. I just think you can feel just as spiritual in a pasture or a museum or looking at a lake.

Kaitsmom-
What makes you think your so much better than me? What makes you so much better than you will enter into this after life and I will not? You are an A-Typical Christian and thank you for making my point so clearly.

She doesn't think she's better than you...we're all the same.
She just has a belief in Christ that you deny. That's your choice. Personally, I'm with Kaits mom. I have the same beliefs.
According to the Bible, I truly believe that someday you too will hear the trumpet blow signaling the return of Christ, however, since you have denied Him, you won't have to worry about going to Heaven to be with us "brainwashed people" anymore. And for that, I'm sure you'll be glad.

How can you call yourself a good person and say such things. Telling someone they are going to hell is not christ like.

Nonnie-
Wow! What a typical Christian thing to say. I personally, as a "non-believer" as you call me, would never say something so cruel. Unlike you, I would never wish pain on anyone. I spend my days working to help people. I work in Victim Services and spend many hours with women living in domestic violence situations. I help them plan so they can escape there bad life and move forward into a happy life without the threat of violence. I love it. I love what I have acomplished at the end of the day. I love to help people. I love to see our justice system actually work. I love knowing because of me someone has hope. You should be ashamed of yourself. Instead of wishing hell on an evil person, like the guy who killed the little girl down in Florida, you wish it upon me and you don't even know me. What a great person you are. If Heaven would be full of people like you I'd rather be in Hell!

I do not feel that i am better than you or anyone else. I do know that those who believe and have not denied The Lord Jesus Christ will see Eternal Life and not hell. I really do think that it is great that you are a good person but one can not see Eternal Life by good works, one needs to accept Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and beleive that God sent his Son do die on the Cross for our sins. As Christians our fruit of the Spirit is shown by good deeds but that will not get anyone into Heaven without believing in Jesus Christ. My Lord also says that every knee shall bow and I believe that is what every believer and non believer will do. Also i am very blessed that in my afterlife the Host of my party will be My Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and not satan, I would not want it any other way!!!!

Wow! It is interesting to me how many people click on CF and "religion" to claim they have no religion. I feel you are being very defensive in your response to Katesmom and Nonnie. I don't post often in this room (usually hang out in another) but this last converstation has caught my eye. If you don't believe in heaven or hell then why are you so offended by people who do (particularly people who believe they are heaven bound?) Don't attack me on the question, I am just wondering and thought maybe self reflection on the subject may be beneficial to you. Often people get defensive when they are afraid of something. I am also a believer in Jesus Christ and what he has done for me. I was in a sad marriage myself (noting you work with women of demestic violence). My husband and I went through years a violent behavior toward one another. It wasn't until I dedicated my life to Christ (excepting that I was/am a sinner and need his salvation offered for free) that my marriage began to take a turn for the better. My husband and I are pretty happy these days, we enjoy a good relationship with one another and I am so thankful that my children still have both of their parents in the same house. I have to add so you don't think that because I am a Christian that I don't like others that aren't or attack them because of their non belief in Jesus Christ. I work with a Jewish woman who does not believe that Jesus is the Savoir. We have become very good friends and I adore her. I care deeply for her. She knows my beliefs and I know hers. Of course I hope that some day she will come to a saving knowledge of Christ but I won't let the fact that she hasn't and maybe never will make me dislike her. God gave us all "freewill" and if God set up that plan it is good enough for me. I also work with a Lesbian. She and I are really good freinds also. She knows how I feel about Jesus and respects me. I except her choice to be a lesbian and have expressed that I believe it is a choice to be gay. She totally respects my beliefs and we do not fight about our differences. I am the only Christian in our little group of four at work. I love those ladies. I believe they love me back. I hope I can show them love and kindness. I hope that they can learn from me and see that even though my life isn't perfect I can find peace and joy in life because my HOPE is in Christ.
Sincerely,
CFFriend

The book you quote was wrote by a person. There is no reason to be rude in your beliefs. People that behave in such a matter is what is wrong with this world.

Wow wow there homsexuality is not a choice. Most cross gender peoples brains are that of the opposite sex. That is very closed minded to assume that because it makes you feel better to think that.

One would commit suicide because of a lack of Faith in Jesus Christ, The Lord wants all of us to trust in him and have faith that we can do all things through Christ. All people do "bad things" The Lord also says that All will fall short of the glory of God!! No one is perfect and we all will fail from time to time, but we start all over again knowing that The Lord will be there to help us. Prayer is not about recieving all that you ask for. Prayer is about a personal relationship with God. Praying will give you comfort in everything. People ask " why would God do this to me or why would he do this to others, My question is why would one deny Christ, who has given you everything, your children, your job your friends, the flowers, and everything imaginable. The Lord giveth and The Lord taketh away. I really do pray for those who do not believe. My 9 year old daugher with Cf cries for ones soul when she knows that they do not believe because she wants them to go to Heaven.

P.S. She always talks about how beautiful Heaven is going to be and how she cant wait to see the streets of gold.
I thank My Lord for her faith
