Just FYI, giving out personal experiences to someone who was looking for them, be they in your personal favor or not, is not advocating drug use. I don't understand the issue here. I would like to apologise sincerely if I have offended anyone on this forum, that was certainly not my intention.
I responded to the crack thread in complete and total sarcasm because it is so riciculous, it's since been locked so am unable to see if it was my over the top sarcasm that offended people, so if it was, i'm very sorry, i was just having a laugh.
As for the pot thread, although my responses were very tongue in cheek, i was serious about my opininons in that one.
And as others have said, if somebody decides to smoke pot, they are not harming anybody else, just possibly themselves.

OMG, this is like the book censors at school, that pull a book out of the library because it might offend some child's "delicate" ears. This is an ADULT forum, and I think it was a legitimate question about the pot. When I saw the title about Crack, I just ignored it--now I wish I hadn't. I could've used a good laff last night. If you don't like something that was said, either respond with your own opinon, or click on something else. You have NO RIGHT to tell me what I should or shouldn't read. I think the only time a thread should be locked is when it degenerates into nasty name-calling. Your child should be on her own forum, or gee, just maybe it would be a good topic of discussion. You HAVE discussed that "drugs are bad for you," with your child--haven't you???

In all honesty, with all the threads about pot brownies, etc, I don't have a problem with them. Knowledge is power, and a little knowledge never hurt anyone. I would rather be informed on how pot affects my lungs, then not at all. This has been said in the past, but I'll say it again - if you don't like what the thread says, don't read it. Who are we to police the forum and say what should or shouldn't be discussed? I don't think anyone here promotes heroin use, etc. I think more people need to have a sense of humor about things on here. CF is such a downer, so why not laugh more. Regardless, if you see something you don't agree with or are disgusted by and don't want anything to do with it, MOVE ON AND DON'T READ IT.

My opinions have already been stated as well. The heroin and crack was a joke... get a sense of humor. And the more "serious" issue, the pot. Yes it was a serious question, and yes some of us responded by "advocating" drug use. Though I stand by what Lilith said. We're not saying GO OUT AND DO IT AHHHHHHHH. We're sharing stories, opinions. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it shouldn't be discussed. There are some people that don't think we should discuss sex so openly either. Too bad. There are some that think we shouldn't discuss hospice care. Too bad. It's a forum, we're going to share opinions and some of those opinions you aren't going to like. Guess what?! TOO BAD!
So long as no one is stomping on your right to say what you want (that is, in the thread you could say "I wouldn't use drugs anyway, they are bad for you and waste of money" and blah blah), you've gotta deal with what <b>we</b> talk about. I'm not offended or bothered at the people that posted things against weed, so long as it wasn't judgmental and what they stated was a personal opinion, or true. I'm never going to be a fan of people posting false information. *shrug*
If you want to leave, by all means, do it. If you want to post about how disgusted you are, also feel free. But the two together is rarely ever (if ever!) more than a ploy to get a bunch of people to go "No please, stay!!" We are not in high school. If you want to leave, actually leave. Don't ask us to beg you to stay. Either leave or don't. Again, I will stand by you can say what you want. You can really post this thread if you want. You might need to say to your child that forums are usually made up of people with a "chip on their shoulder" and not everything they say is gospel, I'm well balanced, I've got a chip on both shoulders...but you can't expect Admin to censor the site unless it degenerates into hurtful attacks, it keeps it interesting and breaks up topics.
