My sister and my cousin both do not have CF, but they did have gest. diabetes. My brother is actually diabetic... no CF. And then my husband has CF. I couldn't imagine how it would be to have Diabetes... and then on top of that CF, or the other way around.

I hope everything turns out alright. When my husband was in the hospital the last time they thought that he might have diabetes and tried to give him insulin, but his sugar levels came down very fast, it could have been disastrous for him if they would have given him the insulin.

If you have gest. diabetes it will only be the length of your pregancy... so just think that there will be and end in sight for that.

Good luck with everything.

well guess what guys, i have gestational diabetes. my fasting and one hour glucose was fine, but the two hour and three hour were high. i'm going tomorrow to talk to a dietitian about what i need to eat and when. i also have to get a blood sugar monitor. fun, fun. oh well, things could be worse. now i'll just have to lay off of my coke icee's and coke floats
if you guys have any tips (i know y'all do) please throw them at me. hopefully it will go away after the pregnancy.

I'm sorry, Haley...

Look at it from the good side, you are already at the halfway point. Plus, it will mostly likely disappear after your daugher's birth.

I'm sorry, though.

I can't think of too many more things to tell you since I already told you alot in an earlier post. Just do the sticks faithfully, and hopefully with diet modifications, it will be enough. Did they say anything else to you? How long do they want you to use the monitor before taking another step, if needed? I really pray that diet is enough. My sister has to do the insulin shot 3x a day for the past 11 years, and I don't know how she does it. Although, that could very well be me if I ever get pregnant. Heck, my CF doctor is already on "high alert" for gestational diabetes, and I'm not even pregnant yet...

Keep me updated! And the rest of the girls!
