I'm praying for her now. Just please, please don't change that opinion of her! Just because she has CF doesn't me she can no longer be a vibrant and happy girl! It just means she'll have some extra challenges in her life.
janeleach:
I was diagnosed at birth. My older brother has CF as well (it took them a couple of months to figure out what was going on with him) so when I popped out sick they knew what to check for. I can't imagine what it would be like to suddenly be diagnosed later in life. On the one hand I've always wished that I could have memories of no medications, but on the other hand that would be a terrible shock to get at once instead of spending years learning and getting used to the details.
Still I can't complain, my childhood was MUCH more 'normal' than many with CF are blessed to have.
