Kathiel, the combination of Tobramycine and Ceftazidime you are talking about is the exact same combo I always had. It's what I wrote about in my other message.

Maybe you can ask your doctor about the Cadd Legacy Plus pump. It is easy to use and you can wear it around your waist. In the other reply I posted a link about it.

Kelli, I think I would complain too about having to do IV's 5 times a day. I had it continuous but that meant I only had to deal with it twice. I can imagine you would have to do something late at night and during the day? When I did Tobra in the morning and evening I could switch cassettes(that were continuous) in the morning when I did Tobra.

What bacteria is abx used to treat? I have never heard of it before.</end quote></div>

I'm not sure what you mean here. Abx is a abbreviation we use here for "antibiotics" and can refer to any antibiotic: penecillin, fortaz, gentamycin, cipro, colistin, etc etc.

If you are asking what bacteria antibiotic treat... well certain ones are good for certain infections. Different ones may be used for Pseudomonas or Staph or Cepacia, and a lot also depends on what your sputum cultures show.

Hope that answered your question.

I am sorry, i thought abx was some new bacteria we cf people may get LOL! I just never heard of a antibiotic ran for 22 hours a crack....
