i'd say i'm mildly moderate maybe? my fev1 is around 58%-60% when i'm feeling great and when i'm sick i drop down to the mid to low 40s. i'm not good at motivating myself to work out on a consistent basis but i'm sure that would help bring my pfts back up. i still bounce back pretty quickly with IV antibiotics so i'd say thats a good sign.

I consider myself mildy/moderate. I have been at my job 7 and a half years now, basically changing oil, tires, batteries, etc. I remember when I first started when I was aound 21 I used to hussle like someone put a firecracker in my ass. I was probably the fastest technician we had. I'm still pretty fast, but I do notice now I get out of breath alot easier. I just moved into my place this past October, and right after the move I had to be admitted to the hospital as I had serious lung inflammation. The doctor said it was not an infection. My father helped me move, and he is pushing 60, and I made him seem like an American Gladiator.<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0"> I was constantly out of breath, gassping for air. When people say CF is a progressive disease, they're not kidding. I can tell a difference, however subtle it is now. In the back of my mind I worry about when I'm 40, or 50. I'm 28 now and I get out of breath pretty easily. I don't even know what my fev is, actually this is probably a dumb question, but what is fev?

A severe mild case or mild moderate depending on if I'm in a glass half empty or glass half full mood :)

My FEV1 is 67%
FEF 25-75 is 50%

Where I used to be able to do a bang up job on lung clearance and reap the rewards of clear lungs for 12 hours +. Now my lungs gunk up again much more quickly. I've had the lovely experience this last year of doing lung clearance literally all day and still coughing up mucus. Sound like it's time for a tune up? I think so too. Tues. I will be admitted for Tobra/Merapenum&Vanco...oh and an embolization too.

I would consider myself mild at the moment. My FEV1 has stayed around 80-85% and small airways are around 50%. I rarely have digestive problems even though I am PI. My sinuses don't give me much trouble at all. I am able to work full time, raise a child, and carry a pregnancy. I am able to exercise however I want; although, I do get SOB with strenuous activity. The more in shape I am, the easier it is for me to exercise. I only need to be on antibiotics once a year, usually in the fall/winter months (sometimes due to exacerbation, sometimes sinus infections). My FEV1 has fallen in the moderate range (59-70%) when I was in my teens, but luckily we haven't gone there since.
