I can't wait to see it! I wonder though, about them never showing vests or breathing treatments or anything on tv or movies -what crappy research depts do these studios/writers have? I mean , really!</end quote>

Ok, finally got to see it... I'm sorry Rebecca, but I have to say it's one of the worst movies I've ever seen.
So inaccurate... I know people that take more medicines than she did that DON'T have CF. (she had a tiny bag of medicines she tossed in her suitcase and is NEVER seen taking ANY medicine ever) None of it was realistic in the least... I mean I liked the part where she was talking to the girl in the hospital, I can tolerate that being a little "out of date" for the story's sake. Also, it used to be true. (kind of funny I mentioned that in my earlier post, and then it's in the movie)
None of the other stuff was even close to reality though. The RT giving her CPT was like... patting her on the back for a job well done or something, I have no idea what he was doing. She also disappeared for some vague amount of time to go into the hospital ... and tune ups are generally 7-10++ days... I think her boyfriend in the movie would have cared a little bit more than he did.
I guess the point of the movie was to say "live life to the fullest" blah blah, but she just came across as being deceitful and fake. I don't know anyone that hides their disease to the extent she did, especially not to significant others. It was really annoying for me to watch her be such an *****. I hope people watching it don't get the wrong impression about cystics (or people with serious illnesses in general) or think that CF is something you can ignore/lie about and pretend it's not there...
So that is my very unofficial review - they need to research more next time, and the movie might have half a chance. Thumbs down.
