I knew someone who did that and he had to rushed to the hospital bc it got stuck. I would never try that myself, as I practically faint when nurses take it out. What started you on taking it out yourself? I mean I know I have seen them do it before, but like I said, I would pass out...lol.

my friends mom pulled out my mid-line one time, but that was only a few inches(years ago). i'd be scared something would go wrong if i pulled mine out. i'm going to ask the home health nurse today.

Oh yea mine has gotten stuk before, thats when the veins spasam around it causing the vien to clam down on it. The first time that happend I did go to the er but the only thing they can do it put heat on it and wait for the vein to relax. It happens most of the time when mine come out if Im at home or in the hospital. Nothing they can do there that you can do for yourself. I guess Im just so used to it that its normal to me. Heck I think the first time I did it I asked the nurse if I could, all you do is gently pull it out and I thought it was cool <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> She told me that its simple just pull just like a normal IV.

Reece is starting on his 3rd week of iv antis....but he has a port, he is currently on oral Zyvox, & the iv antis are Tobra & Timenitn. He goes Dec 26th to check his PFTs & depending what they are is when they usual say stop the ivs<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0">
