Hey Hermit, I can do a lot of things I never did, but I was slowed down a bit when I got double pneumonia in December of 06. Im starting to feel more and more like my post transplant self again. Exercising is the key. Im actively exercising daily, its helping tremendously. I will be 13 years post transplant in September. My prednisone was recently increased by my doctor and Im eating like never before.

This is a bit late, i'm on Ontario Canada and i was really sick this summer. They put me on 50 mg of oral Pred and then i ended up in the hospital and put on 385 mg of Iv pred. Once i recovered i went back to oral pred and now i'm pred free THANK GOODNESS!!!
I hate the stuff. It wrecked my bones, it give you nasty mood swings, you are litterally a bottomless pit, your joints get sore, your face gets very puffy and ur stomach gets huge, you have a hard time walking due to swelling.
I honestly find it to be a band aid. IT hides things, then coming off the stuff is no walk in the park either. U get more pain and if you stop too soon you could die. ur body relies on the stuff and once it's no longer there(if you don't taper down properly) ur body could shut down.

I read ur other replies and no one seemed to mention these so i thought i would be truthful and let you know. sometimes you do need it but do the side effects out weigh the benefits, in my eyes NO.
HOpe this helps
