So the middle class and upper class should be punished because there are people without health care. I'm sorry but I just don't want socialized medicine.

I agree health care is a major problem in the United States, but socialized medicine is not the answer.

And yes you may get emergency care in Canada, but that doesn't include treatment for cancer. If you have cancer you need treatment fast and that doesn't always happen in Canada.

Get a copy of creditable coverage from your previous insurance company. Cobra allows for a 63 day lapse in coverage. That is a federal law. They must cover you with no preexisting clause if you were only insured under the 63 days. Also, make sure you appeal any claims they didn't pay so long as you should have been covered.

Good luck!

I have just recently stopped working, but with the job I was on they had blue cross and blue shield.... When I went into the hospital I found out that they denied paying for anything because I had one lousy month that I had an elapse in coverage!!! These insurance companys are something else im telling you!!! Thank goodness I have my husbands insurance, my enzymes are 90.00 every month

tobi was 35.00 every other month, but going off that due to wanting to get pregnant. And the Pulmozyme was coming up 300.00 ..... I called genetech company through pulmozyme and told them we can not afford this at all with all my other diabetic supplies as well and they said they have a endowment program, this is allowing me to get my pulmozyme every month for a year and the company is paying for it through the cf pharmacy..... after a year they will call you and re submit everything..... I hope this is help for you.... I dont know the guidelines but my husband does make alot of money, but we signed up before we were married, when I called them and told them the insurance company would only pay for all but 300.00 they said it didnt matter that I could still go through them to get the medicine...... Good Luck I hope this helps a bit</end quote></div>

My insurance is good now, 300 deductable, 300 out of pocket max, plus I have state chronic disease program. I have to pay a 25 deductible for a couple drugs, and a 50 dollar deductible for 1. My insurance premium is 80 a month.

My old insurance was out of pocket max of 1200, + 600 prescription. They gave me a lot of problems and didn't cover many bills for this reason and that. They would drag it out beyond the 2 year state law allowed to pay, then fess up to their mistake. Ended up about 35000 in debt over 5 years.

If one isn't willing to help their fellow man when they're down and can't afford health care, then why should anyone do the same for you when you're too sick to work? I'm fine with helping someone who can't afford health care because I know one day I will be in a place where I won't be able to afford mine either.

I might add, many of the millions of people without health care are not just lazy people or "welfare mothers." They are people working full time at sh*t jobs like Walmart that provide inadequate health care... or none at all.

And for the love of god, people, please watch your use of the term "socialized medicine." Lots of the people lobbying for health care in the US are NOT lobbying for socialized medicine.

Let me repeat that (as people seem to miss it or ignore it). <b>People in the US that want universal health care are NOT necessarily for socialized medicine.</b> Socialized medicine = government controls and runs all hospitals, clinics, etc. We are looking for a single-payer system. Just that our taxes go in and then the government pays for all health care. They DO NOT CONTROL IT... they simply pay for it.
