It's definitely a personal decision, one that I agonized about for weeks before telling my current boyfriend (that was over 2 years ago, wow!)

Keep in mind that yes, it's important, but it's not something that should hover over you like a dark huge storm cloud.

I also try to remind myself that everyone has some type of issue, health or otherwise, that they eventually divulge.

It's totally true--I'm sure many people Google it when they get home and read "fatal" "average life expectancy" etc. and then look at me weird when they next see me....usually people are just completely surprised. "How could a beautiful, fun, hilarious girl like that have such a disease?" they think. Oh well. The ball's in their court. They can choose to accept it or not.

that may be like the more difficult parts of telling someone. making sure that they don't believe what hear or read, or at least let them know that they need to be selective and listen to you as their main source of CF information. by the way, you forgot intelligent in your description! lol

For me it depends on the person, the comfort level I have with them, etc. In the past I've told on the first date, and sometimes I've even waited. For me its not so hard telling people about my CF, but rather the big question of 'what do you do for a living', as I'm on Assistance, and often feel uncomfortable telling people. In the end though, if they can't accept my CF, then they're not really worth getting to know.
