This is about 1 week after transplant!! 1-28-08

That's not too bad. I have never seen anyone with the clam shell come up so far though. Do you know why your doctors went up that far with the incision?

i am trying to get pics of mine but having trouble with my computer. my surgon had a signiture insicion he liked to use when doing double lung transplant patients. he would only make two 6 in or so cuts under the breast line. one on each side. they start about an inch or two under the armpit and go to about directly under the nipple area or so. they actually look like someone had breast augmentation done not a transplant. i was the first cystic he could do it on bacuase i guess most dont have the body type he said. the ribcage is usually too rounded to go in the way he does to remove and re-incert the new lungs. i guess he just goes between ribs. its kinda weird but i like it. its completely covered from anyone unless i show them. i have the chest tube holes under of course which look like everyone elses. im very proud to be the first cystic that he could try his technique on. a lot of people dont believe me when i tell them i had a double lung transplant even after seeing the scars, lol. oh well.
