The bible says exactly how to get to heaven. In all you have said, no one has given referance to the bible.
"if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." Romans 10:9,10.
There is only ONE way to heaven and that's through Jesus. He says "I am the door" (John 10:9) and that no one gets to the Father except through Him (John 14:6).
Read the Bible for yourself.
Going to heaven is not based on "merit". Doing good works is great, but it's by grace and mercy given only by God that we can enter into God's kingdom. all we have to do is choose to recieve it.

Any one can be saved and go to heaven, but it isn't just by good works, or just not doing anything bad. It's by accepting God as Lord and ruler of your life. It isn't that hard. I'm definately not saying you won't go to heaven, and I very much agree that it doesn't matter what "religion" you belong to, but there is much more in it for you than satisfaction of doing what's right. Find out for yourself.

anon christian did not mention who he was addressing. Maybe it was the original poster who "walked away from God". So if you once truely believed in Jesus and now are having doubts, do you lose Christianity? I think that is why they put in the statement..."I'm definately not saying you won't go to heaven"

I totally agree with you and we share the same beliefs. The bible does say that one is saved by faith and not of works, no one can get to heaven through good deeds, the bible also says that not one is good, no not one. We are all sinners saved by grace, i also believe that one cannot loose his salvation, Jesus had to die only once to save us.
I originally came to this website for more knowledge of CF and to relate to what others were going through because of CF but i am a believer in Jesus Christ and i am so happy that the religion and prayer threads were started for those that do choose to rely on God for strentgh and comfort.

There's not an Anti Christian thing, I don't think. I certainly don't think less of Christians as a whole. Just because I believe different doesn't mean I don't respect your beliefs, even if I don't understand them. I like the religion threads because I like the different people weighing in what they think. Now, I will never respond well to the "repent, silly Jew" idea, but our closest friend is a Christian youth pastor, so religious discussion as a whole I have no problem with.
In defense of the first anonymous poster, Miesl, he might be one of the Christians that think Jews go to Heaven, and that ws what he meant by "I'm not saying you won't go to heaven." But I was trying to point out to him that there is debate on this board about things because we don't all share the same faith, and from my observations, even members of the same faith think differently, which is, I think, the strength of true religious discussion. Note that I say discussion, not debate. Debate gets us nowhere, but an honest discussion of ideas can be very interesting. Now, sometimes, it an get into the trap of "I'm right, your ideas don't even interest me". I'd rather talk about "this is what I don't get, and even if I never do, that's fine, I have a better understanding of your faith" I have no problem posing questions to Christians on this board if I'm confused about something. Just because I don't agree with them doesn't mean I can't gain an understanding of them.
Second anonymous, I don't think you should be ashamed of your faith. I would never be ashamed of mine. It is a part of who you are, even if others don't agree with you. Stand behind what you believe.
