Productive mucus?

    Blythe,

I am so happy for you that your daughter is out of the hospital and that her PFTs are on the upswing.

It sounds like your CPT and postural drainage are working great! Maybe that just works better for her than the vest? Or maybe all the antibiotics have...

    Productive mucus?

Blythe, Atelectasis? Could that be what the dr meant? (I get that, in my case small but painful, caused by plugs.) I am sorry your daughter is having such a hard time. When she is feeling better and if you do not have it already, see if she can use an Acapella valve. I have found that helps...

    Recurrent Pink Eye

Vigamox is usually used for pink eye. It is moxyfloxacin a.k.a Avelox in drop form (one of the quinolones). Is that what you are using? It is like $70 for a thimblefull. Unless you wear contact lenses, which make pink eye really hard to kick, I think a culture is a good idea. You may have a...

    Catching bugs from your kids

I am pretty sure that I get croup from my kids. It's just a virus that for some reason lodges in the voicebox area and makes some children bark. Of my three kids, two have had it bad and needed steriods (stridor while awake even in cold or humid places). My middle kid just ends up with a...

    Fireplaces and coughing up blood?

Nightwriter (see if you can search old posts of hers) has had hemoptysis from fires around LA. I haven't lit a fire in my house since my lungs became a problem. Construction, smoke, heavy traffic smells all increase my chest tightness and mucus production. I cannot pinpoint what triggered one...

    tinamarie is listed

I have written this post about three times, so I hope I hit the right tone and I am super sorry if I don't...and lots of hugs too for how sad we all are. Forums and message boards try to divide by information, but people tend to divide themselves as well, and it is tricky say what is more...

    low vitamin D

Caroline, Wow that is a lot of vit D. I take an extra strength Citracal (500iu of vit d) a day. I can see why they want to get you as high as possible if all that supplementation only gets you to 29. Thanks for the info.

    low vitamin D

Anyone remember their actual number? Just curious. Mine was 30, which is good according to my doctor, but on the low side according to "the Internet" :-)
