I've known a few people with extremely mild CF, and many of them either still live in the land or denial or used to. Even if someone has mild CF, it's vastly important to treat your disease care wise just like someone with a severe case of it does. Always do your meds, aerosols, and even an occasional vest clearance therapy just to make sure nothings there. BTW this wasn't directed at anyone in this thread, the last response got me thinking about some cfs I knew way back when who were mild and acted like they were normal people.

I was weaklu diagnosed at about 10 but it seems that all my symptons dissapear the older I grew than at age 37 I became ill . At this stage we thought about it again but it never came from the ground. At age 41 I became ill with a speudomonas infection as was diagnosed with diabetes. Cystic Fibrosis was overlooked again and only after I went down with a bad infection of pseudomonas it was decided to test me for the CF gene which I was tested for positive. I was 45 this month and was for the first time really treated with the correct medicine. Through the years I suffered from a persistent coughing but exercise and the right diet keep me going and I lead a normal life. I am working full time and apart from the two times in the last 5 years I never stayed away from work.

I was diagnosed at 4 months.
I'm 24 years old and going strong. I've only been hospitalized twice for lung problems, and that was at the age of 16 for an infection, and 22 for a pulmonary embolization.

i was diagnosed when i was 3. i wasn't in the hospital again until i was 11, and then not again until i was in high school and started smoking etc. that helped wind me up in the hospital.
honestly, i'm not big on being anecdotal, but i moved to north carolina (from michigan) about 8 years ago, and i have been a lot healthier since. i have been on iv antibiotics i think only 4 times since i moved here. hurray for that! it is really not for any one reason why this has happened...anyway, tmi.
i am now 27, and in the last year i have had the highest recorded lung functions since i can remember...since before high school? it has made me realize that age does not always equal decline. of course i realize that this involves a bit of luck as well...and hurray for that too.

I was diagnosed at birth because my older was already diagnosed. He was diagnosed at about 6 months because he was born with a ruptured colon. We are now 25, and 24.

I'll be 24 on march 8th. I was diagnosed at birth b/c my older brother has CF so they checked for it.
