have you contacted Respirtech? they are pro's at this type of stuff.

I bet Respirtech will allow you to keep the Vest while they fight the insurance company.

this ISN'T the end of the road, by any means..... don't panic. there is a way. just keep fighting <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

I have had awesome experience with my vest and my company I got it from. They are so friendly and helpful and even sent me out a new for FREE cause they updated their machine and made it smaller so I got it for FREE even though I had just got the old one from them before the new model came out. They also sent me filters for free and told me to call if I have problems or questions.

It is the SmartVest from Electomed at 1-888-966-2525 I always talk to a lady named Clara.

I am soooo clueless, I never knew there was more then one kind of vest. I have an ABI Vest and I HATE IT, perhaps I would be more compliant, less resistant if I had a different kind.

My advise is don't give the one you have back. Contact the company and your doctor / social worker and let them fight it out with the insurance company.

I was also going to say that I am sure respirtech will work with you/ get some ideas and lobby lobby lobby on your part.

I was fortunate that a 'previous' insurance company paid for my hillrom so we made sure none of the medical records sent over said anythigna bout it because otherwise I was told there was a 99.999999% chance they would NEVER cover it and interestingly enough they have not succeeded in getting anyone's insurance thus far (through my clinci/hillroms dealings) to cover the upgrade cost from one hillrom to another.

ANyway I just had a respirtech representative here on wednesday he was VERY helpful. We had a very interesting conversation because I have had HORRID customer care etc etc from them since the original person I had left. It sounds like (though he told me in a very politically correct way) that the director of customer care whome I spoke with on multiple occasions after my initial horrd care from someon who was 'passing through' according to my new rep is 'transitioning' out of her role as director, I actually laughed out loud when I found out she was the DIRECTOR. Anyway I dont have the guys name on me right now (hooked to vest) but if you are interested he gave me his contact info and highly encouraged me to contact him since there is SO MUCH in transition at respirtech right now. Sounds like there are some people who know what they are dong but so much change it can be hit or miss as to whether you get one of them or not (after my initial person left who was GREAT, I got two who did NOT).
