Shell-shocked here...new to Hypertonic Saline

My 2 year old is on Pulmozyme twice a day, Pulmocort twice a day, Xopenex twice a day, Hypertonic Saline twice a day and the vest three times a day for 25 minutes. The treatments take 70 minutes combined, but it is what we have to do, we use it a play time and either read together or play games. I agree that it is very hard to fit all this in the day. I am a single parent with another child as well and I work full time, we have a tough time getting it all done, but it is so much better than the alternative. Prior to this regimine, my daughter was in the hospital on an average of every 3 weeks. Her lung function was so poor that she required full time oxygen. Since starting this she has gotten off the oxygen except for at night and has not been in the hospital for 3 months. So although it is a pain in the rear, it is worth it.

I completely get it. I was close to tears tonight - it takes sooo much time to get it all done. I am glad to see that I am not alone. I only wish, as you do, that the responses here said that HPS should only take a couple of minutes.

She doesn't have the vest, yet. Lauren uses the Acapella twice a day to loosen the stuff in her lungs. I wish she wouldn't fight it so much.
