or get a vaporizer - less harsh on the lungs..
i can't smoke tobacco at all (when it hits my lungs it literally feels like it's melting the tissure), but i pot smoke doesnt feel like anything.. i cant imaging smoking anything to be better for your lungs, but if you use a vaporizer, it may lessen the toxins... they are like $300, but so worth it.

etc
Volcano Vaporizer Facts
The Volcano Vaporizer increases the amount of active ingredients the user receives from the herb about 75% more then traditional smoking. The smokeless approach the Volcano Vaporizer chose to use is excellent. Tars and carcinogens are virtually eliminated when using the Volcano Vaporizer as opposed to smoking.

Quoting Mike from a few hours ago "I wish I hadn't done so much f***ing damage in my pot smoking days".
I could smack you all. You're lucky if you have high lung function. Don't take it for granted.

OK people, what part of IT'S A DRUG don't you understand? Sure some people, myself included, who use(d) it recreationally, are still coherent , productive members of society. Some people who are closet alcoholics are coherent, productive members of society. Key word is "some". For some it is a gateway drug, others are able to use it occasionally. Some can function normally, some become potheads/alcoholics. I don't think it leads to hard drugs anymore than beer leads to hard liquor. But it is still a drug--too much of any drug, even your meds, will eventually be bad for you. The question is, is it bad for your lungs. Obviously there are varied opinions here, it'd too bad peole are resorting to name-calling to get they're opinions across. I think ANY kind of smoke is bad for your lungs, but you will have to be the judge of your own behavior. <b> Just remember, what you do to yourself now will have bearing on your future. </b> If, on the other hand, you just want to have a little fun with your friends, and only take one or two hits, that shouldn't be reason to ostracize you. You shouldn't do it on a regular basis, 'cause then you are playing Russian Roulett--keep it simple and save it for special occassions. The older cfrs here are just trying to help you hava a better quality of life. "Youth is wasted on the young!"--says the old geezer in "It's A Wonderful Life".

whos allie, emily and ender? i have no idea who they are. did they join recently? are they nice people? what do they do in their spare time? <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0">

c'mon, any nong can see im not refering to them. my beef is with these newbies coming on saying "pot is 100% completely safe", "the smoke wont harm you in any way", "we have inflammation so smoking is good for us", all of which is dangerous advice. i wouldnt even call it advice.

Ok fair call, although i'm an ex smoker myself I am in no way condoning it or suggesting that it most definitely is good for us - obviously or i wouldn't have gone to so much trouble to give up my 16 year habit!! it was extremely hard to do and i'm glad i've done it.

I just think the absolute truth of the matter is that NOBODY REALLY KNOWS what it does or does not do to CF lungs, so i get resentful when people come on here acting like they DO know, they have opinions, like myself, some of them educated opinions, some of them plucked out of an orifice I'd rather not mention! <img src="i/expressions/devil.gif" border="0">

Anyhoo, one day hopefully some actual studies will be done and we can all start talking fact instead of opinion.

Have a great day everyone.

Jbrandon, Kylie just means the "newbies" that are posting stuff like the examples she mentioned. She doesn't mean newbies as a whole. We know not all newbies are pains, but it seems that in this particular thread, the main ones that are causing trouble are newbies.

Kylie, m'dear, if I am speaking out of turn, feel free to slap me across my face. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">
