I am kind of shocked to read this I saw the new comer titles recently but had not been reading much on here. Then click on this today and I had to go back and read through your other post as well lol.
I will say your life is your life to live. At the same time I will say I was psyched to find out a CFer was going to be on the Real World - then kind of bummed at the way CF was portrayed - like there you were smoking/drinking/whatever I just didn't want people thinking that is how it was for everyone. I know that it is a reality show and they are going to dramatize things to the Nth degree, but still it was a bit of a bummer.
I know I may be the oddball in saying that but yeah it is how I felt about it. My fiance and I had not been together too long when your season came out and he was stoked that there was a CFer on there. Then he seemed horrified. It brought up so many questions for him and for us to talk about. He saw what I said about CF and how I was so adament against smoking and other issues and then saw you and what all you were doing and it seemed like the total opposite to him. He didn't know what to think cause he didn't know anyone else besides me with CF ... and then what he saw from you lol. We had alot to talk about because of that season. I actually think that was the last season I watched of the Real World. Not for any reason dealing with you, but just because I lost interest overall.
I guess thank you for bringing CF to people's attention. I can understand you wishing things had been portrayed differently, and I also know that people have lives. You go out, you drink, you party, you do whatever else you do. You LIVE ... just because it isn't how everyone else with this disease deals with it doesn't mean it is right or wrong.
I am glad that you are doing better. I do hate that you had such a rough go of things the past few years. It sounds like you are in a much better place though mentally and physically. I am happy for you and happy that you are still with your boyfriend.
