    need toddler snack ideas

We need the enzymes to digest fat and protein. Unfortunately, the fat and protein is where the big calories are, so anything that does not require enzymes is going to be low-calorie. =-(

    An ADULT only CF FORUM

Why don't you just create your own forum, then you can control who gets in and who stay out. You can do it easily and for free through groups.yahoo.com or groups.msn.com, or other sites like that.

    More Laugh Out Loud

What did the proctologists say? ... or perhaps they were the ones who pulled the issue out in the first place. =-)

    Water or Coke?

Well, I know one of the claims that is true, using coke to bake a ham is delicious (Dr. Pepper is the best). That... doesn't really make coke a bad thing though, so I'm not sure why it's in there...

    Interesting site(not for germaphobics!)

"International Society for Infectious Diseases" .... I wouldn't want to work there! I would imagine people would say, "What do you do for a living?" and I would tell them I work at the International Society for Infectious Diseases, and then everyone would be avoiding me and I wouldn't have any...

    salt water???

I heard (it might be a myth, i don't know) that the way they discovered the benefits of hypertonic sailine is they noticed surfers with CF had generally better health than others because they were near the ocean all the time.

OT but hopefully appropriate to post here

I will certainly be praying as well. As far as knowing what they are going through, has anyone seen Baghdad ER? It is a documentary on HBO and I hear it really shows the pain of what is going on over there.

    Helpless in Carolina

With cystic fibrosis there is a problem using salt in the body, so as a result our sweat has much more salt in it that normal. So, if your grandson has a high salt concentration, they will know he has CF. As for the apprehension, many people here know exactly what you're going through. I...

    One-on-one support for CF

<div class="FTQUOTE"><begin quote>he brought up the fact that as a child with CF your parents were always pounding your back for clearance -- and there was no way you could understand why they were doing something "violent" to you, until you were older.</end quote></div> Um... wow, I've never...

    What happened to those emoticons?

Perhaps they got lost? I have them saved on my computer if the administrator wants me to send them again. I didn't notice anyone using them that much, though.

    Joke

I forget where, but in some TV show a woman asks, "Do I look fat in this dress?" And the man said, "It's not the dress." =-)

    Finding time

I can relate; it is vey difficult to get to church with everything else I have to be doing. I am not able to go on Sundays at all because I am usually working, but some churches hold service on other days, Even then, however, when I do have the time, I don't have the energy. My only answer is...

    ? for parents of cfers

If you always keep him away from public places now, then isn't he going to have problems later on because he hasn't had the chance to develop any immunities? I mean, it's like people who have a water purifier in their house; they don't devolp any resistances, so when they happen to drink normal...

Do you know where the "BEST" cf center is?

Do you know where the "BEST I grew up with the Salt Lake City PCMC. That one's not bad, either. I know you want the best care for your daughter, but don't buy into the hype too much. The best doctor isn't necessarily the most aggressive. Sometimes we need doctors who will allow us to live a...

Bronchial Airway Thickening - what is it?

Well, I mean CF is kind of a lung disease, so... Anyway, It just means her lungs are a little dehydrated. Everyone has mucus in their lungs; the difference of a CF patient is our bodies cannot get moisture to the lungs, so the mucus thickens up and then we have to cough it out, that's all. =-)...

    Safe Drinking Water?

I really wouldn't worry about water, it's not worth it. Even if you do get your kids to drink absolutely safe bottled water, what do they brush their teeth with? What do they bathe with? What do you cook with? What do you water the lawns with? What do you wash the dishes with? Even if you...
