postural hypotension anyone?? (big drop in bp from lying/sitting to standing)

Has anyone seen a cardiologist for postural hypotension? Was it related to your lungs? My gp referred me to a cardiologist after I did poorly on some bp tests in his office and bloodwork showed I'm adequately hydrated/nutriented. I've a hx of passing out and the past six months, lots of...

I just figured anyone who was a really big consumer of this ingredient would be interested to read the article.

    gatorade ingredient in the news

(brominated vegetable oil, not allowed in Europe or Japan) The article mentions a petition. I thought this might be worth posting since Gatorade and other electrolyte drinks are probably used by the CF community more than the general population...

    Feeling down about kids

Twist & Love, I studied the philosopher Miguel de Unamuno when I lived in Spain a long time ago, and in his book "The Tragic Sense of Life" he wrote about the numerous ways in which humans strive for immortality and to leave their mark on the world. His ideas stuck with me, though who knows...

    Itchy Scalp

I can't speak to the cause of the itch...meds or yeast are both good guesses. This tea tree shampoo is great for scalp itch. Buy small, and after initial daily use, you can taper off to 1-2x a week. My sympathies...for some reason after each pregnancy, I had insane scalp itch...

I'd heard of inhaled Cipro studies. Inhaled Levo is new to me. I'd love for any quinolone antibiotic to be avail for inhalation.

    Running in Cold Temps

Bigstar, Being run down, tired, and stressed "helps" you catch a cold or have a flare-up of preexisting lung bacteria, but exercising in the cold shouldn't wipe you out the same way. The exertion and proper clothing should keep you warm. That said, exercise is a boost to the immune...

    How to clean/sterilize the acapella?

National Jewish has these instructions. I don't know how they'd be modified for CF vs. COPD. Definitely sterile water after the alcohol for CF...not sure about frequency. http://www.nationaljewish.org/healthinfo/medications/lung-diseases/treatments/acapella-dm-dh/

Bill, I will talk with my pulmonologist at the next appt. I went through a phase of really worrying i would get my family sick. I was most worried when my kids were under five; as most, they had colds a lot. Plus my eldest had pneumonia twice. I did a bunch of research and even once posted...

coughing in public -take the quiz- he he he

If at all possible, I stay away from or don't cough on people with lung disease, or people undergoing chemo or with weakened immune systems (AIDs, other immunodeficiencies). The bulk of the population is as safe from us as they are from their tap water, dirt, rotten onions and moldy leaves.

coughing in public -take the quiz- he he he

mysticrose, lol at the "chicken wing" name for coughing into the elbow! I do get mucus on my arms (and steering wheel). imqueenof..., I either tell people I don't have a cold (if I don't) or I ignore them. Every once in a while someone's look is mean/mad enough that I feel I have to give them...

I hope the OP comes back to report her findings. Given how she has been treated, I would be surprised.
